heartbreak=LOVE

Do you remember my prank, the new addition? Well, that was Charlie Brown and shortly after we had gotten him, someone took him. Thus, heartbreak! I think it hurt Rob and I more than Rhett. Well, we got a new cat, Casey. Little did we know that when we got her, we would LOVE her so much. Here is a picture when she first came to live with us...(look at how little and how young she and my boy look)

Casey is an outdoor cat....FEMALE cat. We wanted Rhett and Sidney Shea to experience the LOVE of kittens. So in May, we, Casey was expecting her first and only litter!
We had been to the goat clinic (pics to come later) and came home to a cat ready to come into the house. She went straight for Rhett's bed. YIKES!!! I moved her into the bathroom and within 20 minutes the first was born....she had a total of 4 (we lost one) so here are a few pics.
She had them under the sink and lived in the house for a week....my pregnant nose couldn't handle them in the house.
Then outdoors...and oh so much fun for everyone....
Rhett named all the babies Shaggy Doo (whom we lost), Cry Baby (the grey one) BullsEye (the only male) and Charmaine (named after Uncle Ted's wife...Ted Nugent, he has a hunting show Rhett loves) We have a new home for Cry Baby and she left today to live with Bennett and his family.
Here is a close look at the other two kittens, whom still need a GOOD, LOVING home...if your interested, call me!

Boy who loves the outdoors....

Rhett jumps at every opportunity to go outdoors. He really LOVES to go outdoors in camo! He and Rob went turkey hunting...they spent a few hours at Charles' farm, Rhett did the calling and they managed to hear some but no sightings.
Better luck next time!

April showers, bring May flowers

Just wanted you to see the flowers that I cut out of my garden this year!

.....and they're off.......

May started with Rob and I being invited to spend the day at the KY Oaks. The weather turned out to be a cool day but no rain!

We spent Derby Day at friends house in Indiana. You will never guess what they race in Indiana....CHICKENS!!! After the kids went into the hen house, they tried to tag the chickens with elastic neck numbers, that didn't work...so the boss man had to go in and put sticker numbers on their backs. We placed our bids, the call to the post was played by Ryan on the trombone, picked our numbers and then.....opened the door, threw the table scraps and watched to see which chicken crossed the finish line first......and the WINNER is
Then, the kiddos played, we ate and then bathed everyone. Loaded up with Charles and Judy and headed back home. What a GREAT day we had.....can't wait for next years "KenClucky Derby"
