Tractor Show

Nicholasville host an annual tractor show out at the Fair Grounds each year. There are lots of fun things for the kids to do and they can get on the tractors and try them out. This year, we took along Rhett's BEST friend Jonathan. He'll tell you that he has lots of friends....Ivy, Ellie, Cole, Bennett but he and Jonathan are the BEST!

Here they are posing in the tractor tire.

A tub of corn, just think in two years this will be the ages of my children (6,4 and 2)

Sidney Shea getting in on the action. Trust me, she took every step that the boys did and she really didn't want mine and Rob's help getting up on the tractors. She also knew exactly what to do, push buttons, pull levers and turn the steering wheel...

Camping 103

We headed out another weekend in Sept. back to Cave Run. This was the first weekend that the weather was actually GREAT for camping. We had plans for Camping 104 for a week in Oct. but because the baby would be due in just a few weeks from that time and they were calling for rain, we canceled our Oct trip....this would be our last camping outing for the year and we cannot wait to start camping in the SPRING!!

Hanging out in the woods, looking for deer. We hiked to the lake and threw rocks in for over 30 minutes. I think my kiddos could have stayed all day.

Lots of time using sidewalk chalk, I think Sidney Shea had already had her night-time bath, she usually ends up having two or three of them each evening!

Like I said in an earlier post, camping close to family allows for visitors. Rob's parents brought his Mammaw up to visit for a short while.

Then our dinner guest! Boy do my kids love to be with their cousins!

Having Fun!

Nothing like breakfast in bed when your camping! Yep Jill, those are donuts!

Camping 101 and 102

I had hoped to post these as different post so you could get more pictures of our camping experiences...maybe in Camping 103! This year, the Amburgey family purchased a camper and boy have we had FUN!! Our first outing was just for 2 nights at Boonesborough State Park. We went in Aug before school started back up. Let me just say it was the 101 degree days that we went! HOT....but that didn't stop us from the camping favorite, SMORES!

Rhett roasting marshmellows and Sidney Shea enjoying eating them. Rhett loves to put the stick in the fire, however doesn't eat what he cooks. Sidney Shea however, just likes them straight out of the bag....the chocolate is her favorite part!

BIG storm keeps us inside for most of the second day, but it sure left lots of fun for the afternoon.

Puddle jumping and stick horse racing
We even toured the Fort

Here's chief Rob....he doesn't know how to cook at home but when it comes to camping and cooking, he's the go to man. Maybe that's why I LOVED camping sooo much....someone else doing the cooking!

We had such a great experience the first time around that Labor day weekend, we camped at Cave Run lake...thanks to our favorite Park Ranger employee Julie!!! Let's just say Cave Run is our FAVORITE spot!

Enjoying the afternoon at the beach. Julie joined us and so did Michele, Kennedy, Hunter and Kenny. It was nice camping so close to family that people came to visit!

we even had Dinner guest!
Just a picture of our camper and camp site.....more to come on our 3rd trip....back to Cave Run we RAN!!!!!

Thanks Al Gore...creator of internet

Internet problems. It's hard to believe that I only check e-mail and blog on the internet and yet, I've missed it so much! We've been without service now since Aug. I've had just enough to check mail every now and then and look at others post but not enough to do some updating of my own.....I hope you have time to check out all the post. I'm glad I can get some of these up because the baby will be here VERY soon and I know you'll want to see pics of him or her?!

Mom of the Year

Whitney, this post is for you. Because you are always posting your dinner menus and looking for new ideas! Some of you may or may not know this about me but every month I post a calendar(2) on my fridge. One has everything my kids are to eat for breakfast and lunch for the month. The other, has our supper menu. Then I try to go to the grocery and buy everything I need for the month....freezing meat and only going back to get milk and bread. Well, I haven't done that yet and it's 1/2 through the month. So coming up with what we're going to eat is a chore.

Here is where the award "Mom of the Year" comes in. Tonight this is what my kids had for supper:
*blueberry muffin, yogurt, cheese stick and a nutrigrain bar*

yummy,yummy,yummy

A girl has just gotta have fun!

Sidney Shea is growing up so fast! She is such a sweet baby and is so happy. Of course, being the little sister of a big brother has made her very tough. She loves shoes (flip flops), her baby, bicycles and making every step that Rhett makes!

thought everyone would like to see that she does have pink to wear and she likes to play with dolls, ok, she loves the 4-wheeler and the dolls were added for the photo :)

here she is all caged up. That's what we're going to do when she becomes a teenager.....really, this is how she entertained herself at a goat show! She pretended to be a goat and made goat sounds. When out of the cage, she wanted Rhett to lead her around.....funny girl!

Goin' Goat Showin'

This is Rhett and Casey....yeah, Casey (Casey the goat, not cat, not girl, not calf)
Rhett, ok really I, wanted to show goats this year and boy did we ever have fun!!!!

We wanted this to be Rhett's project and for him to learn how to care for his show goat. Here he is using the clippers and giving her, her first hair cut!

At our first show and getting ready by giving Casey a bath....Rhett really likes to give everyone around a bath!

This is soooo much fun! Rhett won his first goat trophy showing in showmanship. He was so serious in the show ring and I believe he was very nervous...

Here's Rhett in a market class

and my favorite class, COSTUME class....can you tell I've waited a long time to have a kid show? Yes, he won the costume class when Casey transformed into a turkey! (we thought that Jessamine Co. was the only fair that had the class but turned out so did Montgomery Co..he won it too!) If you see this, be thinking of what I can do for next year....all suggestions welcomed!

Then we went to Madison County. He was so much more relaxed and enjoyed showing.

the last show of the year, Montgomery County.
We can't wait 'til next year's show season!

Summer Travel

We went to Rob's state meeting and these are all the kids that participated in the kids program....and our fearless leaders for the meeting! My kids had a BLAST......can you believe how grown up they are?

Birthday Boy

Can it be true? This is what my sweet baby boy should look like........

NOT this 4 yr. old boy!!!!
Well, believe your eyes. My boy turned 4 this year. So this year, he decided to have a pool party. He wanted it at the city pool with all the slides and water fountains and all his friends! 50 people later, we had cake and ice cream in the backyard, then 30 folks joined us for 2 hours of fun at the city pool!

It was a beautiful day! I had forgotten to ask my cake master (Shellie) to make his cake so I was stuck with the deed. This is what a came up with!

The birthday boy LOVED it!

He opened presents and then off to the pool. (I have no pictures from the pool)

But, here are some of the pictures from the "toys" that he got for his birthday...WOW he sure has enjoyed them. Thanks to everyone

It's only appropriate for a boy who was born on flag day to have his flag waving strong! Here he is with the new pocket knife (multi-tool) that he used some of his money to buy.
Below is Rhett at 7 am using the 3-D sidewalk chalk and paint that he got.

This is the birthday boy with his snorkel, flippers and new goggles. He had to try them out...with or without water.

And one of his favorites, not the mention the neighbor boy's too, his train table!

Don't blink your eyes, cause time flies by!!!!
