Like Father....Like Daughter

Friday, the kiddos and I took a road trip. We went to Salt Lick, KY and visited with Rob's grandmother. Afterwards we had lunch at Aunt Vicki's and James Benton stopped in to visit. We took him back to his place where Rhett and Unk had some fun on his Ranger!

Speaking of Fun!

Isn't it funny how suddenly "old" toys become new toys. This was Rhett's favorite toy and we got it out for Sidney Shea. Rhett STILL loves it and the two of them played under inchworm for about 15 minutes together.

Wow! What an exciting week we've had! On Thursday, my 1st baby girl, Ann Marie, had Senior night. Rhett and I went on a date together and left Sidney Shea and Daddy at home. After being on crutches from having surgery, the day the baby was born, she was given the ok to dress for the last home game. After a "secret" play, she scored the first 2 pts. for Montgomery County. Now, after the summer recovery, she will be heading out to Alabama (where the skies are so blue) to attend Troy University.

Then on Friday, Aunt Vicki and I went shopping. (kiddos stayed home with Nannie and Mommoo) I had some newborn clothing that I had to return...imagine that, a 10 lb. baby can't wear newborn clothing. Go figure? While we were out, I found a new UK outfit for Rhett. He's sporting it below!

Saturday was Sidney Shea's first day out! The 3rd grade teachers that I work with had a baby shower for me and invited a few other friends. We meet at Applebee's and had a Great time. It reminded me of the only good thing about having to go back to work in a few weeks....great FRIENDS!!!!! While Sidney Shea and I were off to dine with the girls, Rhett and Daddy went to the farm. Rob packed up his truck with all his gear, including a gun...well, so did Rhett. Here he is ready to go for the day. When I called around lunchtime to check on them and see what they were doing, Rhett told me he was getting ready to put salt out for the cows and he was going to get mud and cow poop on him! He is such a BOY!!!

Sidney Shea all dressed up for her big day out!

Baby Shower cake. YUMMY!

This is my Friend Sarah (Ivy's mom) she is not a meat eater. So, at the shower today, her piece of cake was a cow! Now, I can tell everyone she ate beef!!!

It was great fun getting together and having lunch with all my friends. I appreciate soooo much all that they have done for me!

Look at my Sweet Valentines!

In case you haven't noticed by looking at all the pictures of Rhett, this is his favorite 'uniform' and he wears it pretty much every day...and night. So for every game day, he wants Sidney Shea to wear her UK 'uniform' also. Then we all give a big cheer,
C*A*T*S cats, cats, cats!!!!!!

Daddy, Rhett and I took a little trip to the Farm Machinery show in Louisville. Sidney Shea got to stay home with Nannie. Not to worry, she was dressed for the show. Thanks to my friend Amy, who gave this sweet baby girl a tractor shirt of her own! The only problem was, she was wearing John Deere green and Rhett was wearing Kabota orange...problem solved. Rhett went and got his John Deere "worker boy" hat!
Here are some pictures from the show. Rhett loved getting inside all the tractors and getting to push the buttons!

The annual picture of Rhett inside the tractor tire...my how he's grown

OK, well my friend Sarah says this is easy so here it goes! I'm really doing this for Amber so she can see my children and for my Aunt Vicki who loves to take pictures and asks daily if I've taken any new pictures of Rhett and Sidney Shea!!

WELCOME to the world SIDNEY SHEA!!

on January 22nd at 3:32 am Sidney Shea was born at 9 lbs. 15 oz.
(if she hadn't pooped before they weighed her, she'd been a 10 pounder)

She was welcomed home by BIG brother Rhett...wow, does he ever seem soooo big now.
He loves her so much and wants her to sit with him every morning when he wakes up. He also wants to help change her diaper, feed her and he even helped clean her belly button.

She is a really good baby. This is pretty much what she does all day long. SLEEP! So, everyone that comes to visit might as well just plan on playing with Rhett. Speaking of playing with Rhett, my cousin Tonya, her two girls Sophie and Lacee are Rhett's new favorite playmates. They came to play and told Rhett that they have a swimming pool and he would have to come and swim at their house. The next morning, Rhett woke up and said "Momma, I'm ready to go to Sophie and Lacee's house to swim!" I thought I'd have to listen to that for the next 4-5 months but, Rhett was just as happy to settle for pretending that he was swimming with them.

Come on in, the water is warm!
